"Better late then never"

Hi everyone!  I sure hope I was missed around here.  Moving into a new house can be overwhelming, exhilarating, exciting, and exhausting all at the  same time.  Needless to say we moved into a this new house with no internet service and no cable television service and so my husband and I were entertained through communication which is not one of his strengths...hehe!  Well I just got internet a few days ago and cable television was installed this morning and so I am getting back into the swing of things.

Without further ado...I did pick a winner quite some time ago for the last blog hop.  The winner is #11 is Michele with Scrappin' Fish Memories and More...  CONGRATULATIONS!

Michele, I will be sending out an e-mail please reply at your earliest convenience.

On a final note, my scrappin' room is coming along (I will post pics soon) and the Heartstrings Design team has something in store for you all on September 22, so keep an eye open for that.  I hope you all have been scrappin' away while I was having major scrappin' withdraws.  Please go and get crafty and I will have something up for you all here really soon.  Take care, until next time.

"Hearstrings DT BLOG HOP"

Hi everyone!  It is BLOG HOPPING time over here with the Heartstring Design Team to showcase some amazing stamps from My Heart Stamps for You.  If you hopped on over here from Shelley's Blog, then you right where you need to be.  If you would like to start hopping from the beginning, click right HERE!

I have been so super busy, I made this card a few weeks ago because I just knew I wasn't going to have time.  After I made it, I wanted to share it with everyone right then and there because it was so stinkin' cute.  So without further ado...

...For the base of the card, I used Kraft Paper (8 1/2 x 4 1/4).  I used these really cute birdie stamps ( I have to think about where these stamps are from) and colored them in with prismacolor pencils and blending tools.  I stamped these birdies directly on the kraft paper to see an illusion of a shadow behind them as I set them on pop dots.  Using a border punch (Upper Crest) for the birdies to rest upon followed by a really thick brown and white polk-a-dot ribbon.  I finally used a heart punch to cut out five hearts in a white cardstock and attached them to ribbon that coordinates with the colors used for the birdies.  Finally, I stamped the sentiment 'Friendships are tied together with Heart Strings' from our sponsor My Heart Stamps for You

WAIT!

Before you leave, I am giving away some BLOG CANDY.

"Divalicious"

Hi everyone!  Can you believe it is August already, where has the first half of this disappeared to...it went by to quickly right?  Summer is almost gone and thank goodness for that...summers out here are brutal.  Speaking of summer, I got this super cute paper in the mail from Echo Park called "A Walk in the Park."  I LOVE THIS PAPER.  I created this cute layout based on a sketch I saw in a magazine and I can't recall the magazine for the life of me (when I do, I shall let you all know).  The diva in this picture happens to be one of my nieces.  She loves to have fun and is so photogenic that I couldn't resist to scrap this playful picture of her. Without further ado...

Brown Cardstock
Blue Cardstock
Orange Cardstock

'A Walk in the Park' Patter Papers
Buttons/Brads
Scalloped Punch
Glue Dots
Corner Punch
Brown Ribbon
Stickers

***In case anyone wasn't sure how to make the pinwheel, I have***
taken some pictures and will add directions as well.

1. Cut paper 3 x 3 inches
2. Fold the paper on the diagonal in both directions (use a bone folder if the paper is heavy)
3. Use a pair of scissors and cut 3/4 of the way down on each of the creases.
4. Fold ever other corner into the center of the square and use a glue dot or whatever adhesive you have to hold the paper down.
5. For a final touch and to securely hold the paper in place, use a button, brad, or flower.

I hope that you all have enjoyed the layout and really cute technique with the pinwheel.  I hope this will inspire many of you to get craft today.  Take care, till next time!

P.S.     Don't forget that I still have the giveaway going on.  Please leave a comment on this post by August 8 @ 8:00pm PST.  I will be picking a winner at that time.  Click here to go directly to the giveaway post!
